The Lord of the Rings: the Two Towers-By J.R.R. Tolkien
With Gandalf seemingly perished, Boromier dead, and the remainder of the fellowship split up, the Two Towers sort of switches between Frodo and Sam in the East, and Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli, Merry and Pippin in the West. The Two towers also introduces readers to a new cast of characters such as Eomer and the riders of Rohan. Frodo and Sam are heading to Mordor. But they come across the creature named Gollum, who attacks them because they have the ring. Frodo and Sam over power him and he becomes their guide. In the mean time, Legolas, Aragorn, and Gimli with Gandalf (who died but rose again,) go to Rohan to see King Théoden. King Théoden is under control by the evil wizard Saruman. Saruman’s spy Grima Wormtongue is whispering poisonous words to King Théoden. Legolas, Aragorn, Gimli, and Gandalf come to Edoras, the throne room of Rohan. The Uruk-Hai of Isengard have been going around And burning the villages of Rohan. Once King Théoden is cured from Saruman’s Deceit, it`s payback time. The Rohirrim go to the ancient stronghold of Helm`s Deep. Saruman has sent an army of 10,000 Uruk-Hai to attack. Luckily, the Elves of Lothlorien have sent an army of 300 Elves, Led by Haldir. The battle goes long into the night, and just when it looks like there is no more hope, Gandalf comes with an army of Rohirrim. About Merry and Pippin: they escaped after a group of Rohirrim attacks their Uruk captors. Merry and Pippin run into the ancient Fangorn Forest, where they meet Treebeard and the Ents. Merry, Pippin, Treebeard, and the Ents go to Isengard, where they attack the remaining Orcs and Uruk-Hai and end the Terrible reign of Isengard.
